Aubree looked around the inside of the huge old house in the heart of downtown Seattle, keeping her distance from the other female, Rachel. She wasn't too keen on getting up close and personal with someone she didn't know, surrounded by vampires.

Aubree had always prided herself on her ability to handle any weird crap that was flung her way.

But the alley had taught her differently. Yeah. She'd almost been raped and killed. Actually, after talking with the Reapers she'd learned that the faction were a splinter group of rogue. Aubree had insisted, much to Beau's amusement, that all the details be explained so she could keep them straight in her head. And that's all there was, keeping it straight.

There was no making sense of it, that's for sure. She thought back on the conversation she'd had with the Reapers, in Beau's presence, of course.

The overprotective lug.
